How to make a quick and easy Window Valance

If you can sew a straight line, you can create this quick and easy window valance in just an hour.

After you've found the perfect fabric, fold the material, putting the right side against the other. Place the fabric for the pattern (if any) is horizontal.

Make a paper pattern or trace the outline of the valance. You can be straight, wavy, or with points like this example. Make the height of 1 / 3 to 1 / 4 of the window height and width of a few inches wider than the window, including the seat around.

Cut the fabric. Pin the sides together - with the right side still together - to keep the structure from moving as you sew. Sew all sides except one. If the side to leave open is large (I recommend the top long), leave the middle half open.

Pull the fabric right. Press with an iron. Hand stitch the opening closed. Press the seam.

To add to your seat valance, pin the seat along the edge of the fabric to fit laying toward the center of the valance. As right out, the seat properly seated on the outside of the seam. Something very close to the edge of the seat so that it hangs evenly.

You can make loops to hang the valance from the material or buy cable game. For matching material loops, make strips twice as long and twice as wide as you want the loop to be. Add half of an inch in width and length. Sew as you did the valance with the right side, leaving a small opening. Again turn right side, press, stitch the open side, and the press. For the cable, simply cut a length that is twice the measure you want from the top of the valance to the holder. S many loops as you have hangars.

Ideally, the loops should be sewn into the upper seam. That means the loop should be inside the valance on the right side were sewed together as up, folded in half. Then when you sew it all together, the end of the loop is hidden neatly in the top seam. If that is confusing or too bothersome, just bend the loops has previously, and hand sewn to the valance. Be sure to place even in the top and in the hangars will be.

Secure the valance holders to your window trim or drywall (use drywall anchors if not going into wood) and then hang your valance. Now, you have a custom valance in about an hour.

Scrapbook Paper Bag

Paper Bag Scrapbooks are super hot in scrapbooking right now! They are manufactured using standard paper bags which pack your lunch when you were in school or who may have brought some home from the store in their last visit. The best part of the scrapbook paper bag is that there are several side pockets that can be loaded with memories or scrapbook pages mini. With some tapes, paper, a stapler and a lot of imagination, scrapbook paper bag will make the perfect gift. The hardest part of making these scrapbooks is to choose a theme! Let's start!

Materials :
  • 2-3 paper bags, any size
  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Stapler
  • Rule
  • Punch

Steps:

  1. In choosing the number of paper bags is necessary, you need to know how many pages will need to complete the project. With 2 paper bags, the scrapbook will have 8 pages and 4 pockets to decorate. If you choose 3 bags, you will have 12 pages and 6 pockets to decorate. To this instruction, I decided to use 2 paper bags.
  2. First you need to cut the bottom of paper bags. The easiest way is to leave his flat folding paper bag. Lift the flap down and then cut straight through the bag. To do this, all your bags of paper, ensuring that they pairs.
  3. Then times each bag individually by half. Then put one above the other.
  4. Use your hole punch to cut 3 holes on the left side of the book. (See the tips below for the easiest way to do this).
  5. Cut into 3 strips of tape about 5 inches long. The feeding of the ribbon through the holes and tie.

6. Now the real fun starts. Decorate your pages!

Finished Paper Bag Album

Paper Bag Album Tips

# The bag scrapbook paper is acid free and lignin. Note that the pictures stored on your scrapbook paper bag shrinks. So you must take extra precautions to protect your photos. Use copies of their photos, do not use the originals. Also do not use precious commodities such as ticket stubs, unless you copied them too.

# If you want pockets fewer side effects, then do not cut the ends of the bags. Some instructions call to switch bags before bringing them together. This translates into having a side pocket of every page of another.

# Add a poem to a side pocket if you are running below the photographs.

# Instead of using a hole punch, use your eyelet setter.

# For binding the album together use: eyelets, fibers elegant, brooches, rings of metal staples or even use your sewing machine to sew in the center.

# Use colored bags in the aisle of craft or gift bag section. Or the use of paper bags is in the supermarket.

# Use big bags for greater album.

# Measure the side holes evenly with a rule, then drill holes. Then match up the second bag behind the first bag and mark where holes should be drilled.

# Pre-cut your cardstock or decorative paper for the same size for use as a background document. Then go to town!

# Use tags as a decorative part of the paper bag scrapbook. Use daily after fiber ribbon or yarn through the top of the label for the fiber out of the top of the album.

# Choose your theme: summer vacation, birthday party, favorite pet, baby album book or a nice boast.

Ribbons Staple # next to the pages that fit in your pocket. It has a nice touch.

Cintas side make a nice touch.

Heirloom Photo Ornament

Materials:
• clear glass ornament (any shape and size)
• Magic Bubble Adhesive
• Magic Bubble brush
• Glitter Crystal (very good) or strips of Mylar angel hair
• 1 / 4 "decorative ribbon bow (optional)

Step One:

• Remove the tab on the top of the glass ornament and rinse the ornament with a solution of bleach and water (this helps prevent mold growth in the finished ornament). Place face down on paper towels to drain. Allow to dry completely.

Step two:

• Select a treasured family photograph for your photo ornament. Use graphics software, a scanner and a printer, to enhance, resize and print a copy of the photo printed on plain paper (DO NOT use glossy photo paper - that do not comply with the crystal ball very well). Alternatively, you can use a photocopier at your local copy shop to make copies. Do not forget to reduce the image size to suit your decoration.

Step three:

Carefully cut around the picture of the copy, leaving about a 1/4-inch border. If you're using a round ball ornament, making cuts at the edges of the photo copied every 1 / 4 inch or 1 / 2 inches, to allow the paper to fit smoothly into the round ball. These cuts will not appear on the final embellishment.

Step four:

Pour some glue Magic Bubble on the ornament, taking care not to get it in the neck. Tilt the ball to run up the sticker covering the glass, where the image will be placed.

Step Five:

Roll the photo copied (image side) to form a roll small enough to fit on the ornament and insert carefully. Use the Magic Bubble brush to the position of the photo against the inside of the ornament and carefully brush over the entire picture until smooth adhered to glass. If you can not get the magic brush of bubbles that looks like a small mascara brush or a bottle - so feel free to substitute anything similar.

Step Six:

If using glitter, pour more magic bubble tail ornament, the ornament and tilt to coat the inside completely. Pour off excess. Pour frost on the ornament and roll the ball inside until the entire ornament is covered. If you find you've missed a place with glue bubble of Magic, you can use the brush to add more adhesive to that place. Shake any excess shine to prevent clumping.

Step Seven:

Allow to completely dry photo ornament. If you do not use glitter on the ball, you can now add strips of Mylar angel hair, strips of decorative paper, snowflakes punched paper, feathers or other decorative items to fill the interior of the ball. Once the ornament is complete, carefully put the flange back, pinch the wires to prevent damage to the opening motif.

Step Eight:

Use a glue gun or white glue to attach a decorative ribbon bow around the neck of the ornament, if desired. You may also want to attach a paper label with the names and dates (birth and death dates and / or date the photo was taken) of the individuals in the photograph.

Ornament Photo Tips:

• If you use the printer to print photos, make sure the ink is waterfast. Many printers use inkjet water-soluble ink, to be implemented if used in this project. If you are not sure, then have copies made in its local copy shop.

• This project works best on flat ornaments. When using round balls, be sure to clip the edges of the photo to help snap the ball around, and make punctures in the photo to help eliminate air bubbles. Work slowly and be patient - this can be tricky with larger pictures and ornaments ball.

• If you make a mistake, ripping a photo, so they always have the option to start over. To reuse the ornament, rinse thoroughly with chlorine bleach and let dry.
