Jar Paperweight

Materials:

* Small glass jar with lid (cork looks nicer)
* Sand color (at least 2 different colors)
* Tape
* Photo
* Hot Hot Glue and Glue Gun

Instructions:
Pour the sand into the jar, a tablespoon at a time, alternating colors to make a fun pattern. Fill the bottle completely and then glue the lid on the bottle.

Cut the picture to fit the side of the bottle and glue it in place. Tie ribbon around the top of the bottle.

* Craft White Glue
* Acrylic paints
* Pictures from magazines or wrapping paper

Instructions:
Soak / remove all labels and clean jar. With a brush, apply white glue to the front of the image and place inside the container. Smooth as there are no gaps.

Once dry, apply paint into the jar full, providing a background for the image when viewed from the outside. Use your imagination to add pretty ribbon deposits, jewelry - whatever - on the edge of the jar or lid.

How to make a quick and easy Window Valance

If you can sew a straight line, you can create this quick and easy window valance in just an hour.

After you've found the perfect fabric, fold the material, putting the right side against the other. Place the fabric for the pattern (if any) is horizontal.

Heirloom Photo Ornament

Materials:
• clear glass ornament (any shape and size)
• Magic Bubble Adhesive
• Magic Bubble brush
• Glitter Crystal (very good) or strips of Mylar angel hair
• 1 / 4 "decorative ribbon bow (optional)

Step One:

• Remove the tab on the top of the glass ornament and rinse the ornament with a solution of bleach and water (this helps prevent mold growth in the finished ornament). Place face down on paper towels to drain. Allow to dry completely.

Step two:

• Select a treasured family photograph for your photo ornament. Use graphics software, a scanner and a printer, to enhance, resize and print a copy of the photo printed on plain paper (DO NOT use glossy photo paper - that do not comply with the crystal ball very well). Alternatively, you can use a photocopier at your local copy shop to make copies. Do not forget to reduce the image size to suit your decoration.

Step three:

Carefully cut around the picture of the copy, leaving about a 1/4-inch border. If you're using a round ball ornament, making cuts at the edges of the photo copied every 1 / 4 inch or 1 / 2 inches, to allow the paper to fit smoothly into the round ball. These cuts will not appear on the final embellishment.

Step four:

Pour some glue Magic Bubble on the ornament, taking care not to get it in the neck. Tilt the ball to run up the sticker covering the glass, where the image will be placed.

Step Five:

Roll the photo copied (image side) to form a roll small enough to fit on the ornament and insert carefully. Step Six:

If you find you've missed a place with glue bubble of Magic, you can use the brush to add more adhesive to that place. Shake any excess shine to prevent clumping.

Step Seven:

Allow to completely dry photo ornament. If you do not use glitter on the ball, you can now add strips of Mylar angel hair, strips of decorative paper, snowflakes punched paper, feathers or other decorative items to fill the interior of the ball. Once the ornament is complete, carefully put the flange back, pinch the wires to prevent damage to the opening motif.

Step Eight:

Use a glue gun or white glue to attach a decorative ribbon bow around the neck of the ornament, if desired. You may also want to attach a paper label with the names and dates (birth and death dates and / or date the photo was taken) of the individuals in the photograph.

Ornament Photo Tips:

• If you use the printer to print photos, make sure the ink is waterfast. Many printers use inkjet water-soluble ink, to be implemented if used in this project. If you are not sure, then have copies made in its local copy shop.

• This project works best on flat ornaments. When using round balls, be sure to clip the edges of the photo to help snap the ball around, and make punctures in the photo to help eliminate air bubbles. Work slowly and be patient - this can be tricky with larger pictures and ornaments ball.

• If you make a mistake, ripping a photo, so they always have the option to start over. To reuse the ornament, rinse thoroughly with chlorine bleach and let dry.

• Glue (Glue Stick but you may want to use a little dab of white glue for one step)
• Button (or any other type of embellishment such as a small shell or little seeds)

1. Take the paper and the straight edged cutter (or scissors if you don’t have the latter) and cut 2- 1 inch strips from each sheet of paper. Cut more if you plan on doing multiple flowers. I like to use an 11 to 12 inch length for a bigger flower.
2. Now that you have the sheets, take one strip and place the side you want showing face down.
3. Fold the one edge to the middle of the strip to make a loop with the paper, repeat with the other edge.
4. Once you have determined the center of the paper and the best loop size, glue the edges down to the center of the strip so that it overlaps slightly. You will end up with three layers of paper in the center with a loop on either side.

5. Repeat the process with the second sheet of paper in the same color. (In this instance, I used two strips of printed paper.)
6. Take one looped paper and place a dab of glue on the middle.
7. Firmly place the second looped paper onto the first to create a “t” with the two papers.
8. Repeat steps 2 to 7 with the other paper (in this case the blue paper for me).
9. Glue the two “t’s” together the same way that you did the individual papers. Since the paper is heavier, this is when I recommend using the white glue for extra support. You will want the papers to be diagonal to each other to give the look of a full flower.
10. Using the white glue, attach your embellishment to the flower and you are ready to use for decorations.

A great way to use this craft is either on a Mother’s Day Card or on a pipe cleaner to give with other flowers as a bouquet for Mother’s Day or any other day that you want to make mom feel special.
